Assessing compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, stress and job satisfaction among nurses

Orientation: Nurses experience occupational risks, including compassion fatigue and satisfaction with patient care, which could affect the quality of care provided.Research purpose: This study examined prevalence (CS), burnout, secondary traumatic stress (STS), stress, job (JS) among nurses. Furthermore, this aimed to determine predictors nurses’ professional life (ProQOL).Motivation for study: inform policymakers about nurse well-being, improve working conditions, provide valuable insights into life.Research approach/design method: A cross-sectional was conducted 347 nurses from a teaching hospital in eastern Saudi Arabia. Data were collected using three scales: ProQOL, Nursing Stress Scale Job Satisfaction Scale.Main findings: The mean scores CS, STS, nursing JS 38.1, 12.1, 23.0, 38.4 91.8, respectively. Predictors CS included (≥ 26 years), JS. Female gender, burnout. STS.Practical/managerial implications: results enhance understanding ProQOL contribute improving conditions. Policymakers can necessary support ensure that have resources optimal care.Contribution/value-add: addresses gap international comparative research on worker developing countries Gulf Cooperation Council region, offering its dynamics influences. enhances our critical aspects workers’ well-being.
